The Natural History Museum of London has recognized Reportage photographer Brent Stirton as the 2014 Wildlife Photojournalist of the Year, for his work “Living With Lions.”

The photoessay, which was originally published in National Geographic Magazine, highlights the ways in which the lives of humans and lions are inextricably linked, from communities at risk of attack to “canned-lion hunts,” in which the animals are bred for game.
