Alex Livesey is a Getty Images Sports Photographer who has covered Olympics, World Cups, UEFA European Championships, numerous Grand Slam tennis events and the Tour de France.
Recently Livesey was invited to discuss his favourite pictures and the stories behind them on BT Sport.

About Alex Livesey
Alex was born in Bury, Greater Manchester in 1972. Having left school to study photography at Stockport College, Alex then moved to Newport College in Wales where he specialized in documentary photography. After working for a sports photography agency in North London for five years Alex joined Allsport/Getty Images as a staff sports photographer in 1997.
Alex has received a number of industry accolades during his career including Getty Images European Photographer of the Year 2012, First place in the 2010 Winter Olympics category at the Pictures of the Year International Awards, a World Press Photo Award in the 2007 Sports Action category, SJA Sports News Picture of the Year 2006, Barclays Premier League Football Picture of the Season 2005/06, Nikon Sports Photographer of the Year 1998 and has received many Highly Commended and Honourable Mentions at the International Olympic Committee and UK Sports Awards.
Alex has travelled the world covering many major sporting events. These include summer and winter Olympics, FIFA World Cups, UEFA European Championships, numerous Grand Slam tennis events and the Tour de France.
In addition to his event coverage Alex continues to work with high profile athletes and sports people in the studio and on location. Clients have included Nike, Adidas, Umbro, Reebok and Pepsi.
