The city of Berlin will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on Sunday 9th November 2014.

The Wall, built by the communist authorities of East Berlin, divided the city between 1961 and 1989 and became the iconic symbol on the Cold War. East Germany was under communist and Soviet control from its founding as the German Democratic Republic (DDR) in 1949 and ceased to exist following German reunification in 1990.

Photographer Sean Gallup shows a comparison between Berlin in the 1960s and Berlin now in 2014 in these incredible ‘Then and Now’ match ups.
