Preparation and research are the first things you do before stepping foot inside a venue. Depending on your shooting position, you’ll cover off the basic action first.

Then you’ll get a chance to be creative and come up with different, more artistic pictures.

 

 

The bright white uniforms mixed with dramatic lighting make fencing a very photogenic sport. Mix this with a slow shutter speed and slight zoom burst technique and you can produce images than really demonstrate the lightning fast movements needed to win the gold!

I like sports where there might not be a lot of attention on them, especially some of the underrated sports in great venues. The main events are flooded with hundreds of photographers …[so] your chances of capturing something different and special at the smaller events is much higher.
