From the Ebola epidemic in Liberia, Air Malaysia’s passenger jet crash, the ongoing conflict in Syria and the Hong Kong protests to stunning moments from the Cannes Film Festival, Sochi Winter Olympics and the FIFA World Cup, the ‘Year in Focus‘ 2014 captures the best of the best, showcasing the year’s most important moments in the world of news, sport, entertainment and archive anniversaries and obituaries.
In 2014, Getty Images’ award-winning photographers covered more than 90,000 news, sports and entertainment events, delivering imagery to newsrooms and media publishers around the world. A stunning curation of 60 of these defining images is now on display as part of a retrospective exhibition at the Getty Images Gallery in London’s west end.
To launch the book, an event was held on Wednesday 21 January at the Gallery and was attended by over 200 media and agency guests who were able to meet many of the featured Getty Images photographers. In addition, all guests received their own copy of ‘Year in Focus’ to take home.
